What's the hype about the brand OPI?

One note that I'd like to make on behalf of pyrostylez and myself is that we both really enjoy using OPI polish. However, that does not mean that we don't own or use any other brands such as Chanel, Essie etc. Perhaps one of the most important reasons that OPI seem to trump other polish is the eclectic and extensive palette they offer. Second of all, they also don't contain dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, or formaldehyde. Needless to say, inhalation, contact, or consumption of the above mentioned chemicals is NOT good for you... (apparently DBP can potentially affect testes development, so you most definitely don't want pregnant women or your boyfriends to be in close contact with that, right?)

Another cool thing about OPI is that they are a family run business (they immigrated from eastern europe). Throughout the years, they have grown into one of the most well-recognized nail care brands in the world. Despite this growth and success, they still donate copious amounts to charities such as community clinics for those who are uninsured.

P.S. some OPI products do contain formaldehyde (nail hardeners), but they also give you the option to purchase products without it to give consumers more options (not quite sure why you wouldn't just straight up eliminate the formaldehyde products though...)

OPI's Fierce Fiona

Alright, so here's my first blog post!

Went out today to get a fresh set of mani/pedi. Can't say that
I am very satisfied with the paint job on my hands- in fact, I think it's the worst manicure I've ever had. So instead, I will just focus on my pedicure today.

In celebrating the dawn of summer solstice, I decided to go with the color yellow! For those that know me, I'm usually one who would choose more neutral colors over the bolder or exciting flavors. But since school's out, and I'm completely enjoying the Malibu sun, I've decided to leave my
comfort zone : )

The name of the polish I picked was OPI's Fierce Fiona. This is actually part of OPI's SHREK COLLECTION. I must say that I really like how the color turned out. At first, I was concerned that the yellow would blend into the color of my skin tone. However, I realized that this yellow created a subtle yet sharp look. Plus, isn't electric yellow the "in" color right now?

That's all I've got for now! Hope you enjoyed this little blurb of nothingness

OPI's Blue My Mind

this is by far the hardest color for me to put on, it took 3 layers to look solid and even then some of it still looks a little patchy. i might have to bring this into the pro's and see how it's done properly.

Hey!

Hey! So sorry it's taken me this long to write my first post to this blog, but hopefully I can start to be a little more timely in my updates : ) For me, this blog will include everything that I find to be fun/interesting, whether it be relating to grubbing, travelling, and of course, nail painting!

First official post will be coming soon
